Sweet Memories of Bali (Part 2)

Day 2 (...part 2)

Lovina Beach, Bali

On the way heading to Lovina Beach, the north part of Bali. I'm amazed with the suroundings which were so unique and beautiful. Makes me felt wanna stop at every single point and take the pictures. But the journey to the north is still long way to go..."Dewa", our tour guide a.k.a driver juz told us that we only will stop at d peak of "Gunung Batur". I fall asleep at the back while Frank and Dewa chitt chatt all the way. We reached at the "Gunung Batur" area and we need to pay for the entrace fees. I'm not really sure how much we need to pay for that. But, what still playing in my mind is when the group of kids selling their stuffs and begging to us outside the car when we stopped at the entrace. I felt bit sympathy but Dewa said to me not to bother them. Then we left them "shouting" and "begging" to buy their stuffs.

Dewa park the car and again, few locals circling us surrounded with the sourvenirs, paintings, t-shirts and so on. We just ignore and one of the painting seller asked where we came from. After we mentioned we're from Malaysia the guy spontaniously said that he loved Malaysia No.1 singer Siti Nurhaliza. We surprised! He also mention the Dato' K who not marry to Siti yet that time. He also said they blessed Siti whoever be her husband.

We stunned with the view of the "Gunung Batur" volcano and the surrounding sea view. Its really amazing and the weather was breathly low tempreture with little sunshine and bright sky. We were very lucky because we can see the whole area so clearly. Dewa also surprised because on the way up to the hills, the weather not allow us to get to see the view nicely. But when we arrived, the weather suddenly changed and not cloudy at all. I can't help myself from stop enjoying the mesmerizing view of the "dead" volcano. I just imagine what if the volcano just blow the larva right in front of us. Hehee..silly thinking!

We took few shots there before went for lunch buffet.

The lunch buffet cost us around Rp200 000++ for 3 persons. Its quite expensive to me. But since we get the best view, just simply ignore the zeros behind the amount!hehee...We're having the meal while facing the "Gunung Batur" volcano. See the picture below and I can promise that it's feel much more wonderful than in the picture. Sometimes i looked down and asked myself whether the structure of the restaurant strong enough to hold the building build the hillside. Cut the crap. Enjoy the meal lah..hehee!

*Frank enjoying his foods.
*Lunch with view of the volcano. Tremendous!

After lunch with complete course till the desert of fruits platter, we continue our journey to the north. Along the way, again we passed thru the villages and the small town within the hills. Can see the typicall traditional Balinese with their routine activities. When Dewa drive along the road, suddenly got "road block" in front, he said no need to worry! The "Polisi" asked Dewa to come out from the car and showed some documents. Dewa came back to car and said "Haaih...Polisi...Curruption". Then he gave some money to the "Chief" and continue driving. I feel little nervous as a tourist that being blocked by the local police.

It takes long way to Lovina and I fall asleep all the way until we reached at the nearest town. I woke up because disturbed by the noise of the busyness town. Then Dewa told me that we almost reach to Lovina Beach and thats the nearest town.

We reached at Lovina around 5pm and straightly to Aditya Beach Resort, Lovina Beach! The Lovina Beach famous with the "dolphin" and not surprise because the resort also put the dolphin images on the signboard. We checked-in and the funny thing happened. I gave the bellboy Rp1000 only equals to RM0.40 . I get confused with all the Rupiah big notes.Hehe..So pity him, he still lucky at least better than nothing.

At nite, we both having dinner at the resort restaurants where only we can see "mat saleh" around. The dinner set really completely satisfied us. Salute to the chef and the waiter. After the wonderful dinner, we went back room watched tv and sleep because need to wake up early in the morning at 6am for the Dolphin trip.

To be continue...

Sweet Memories of Bali

Bali Island, Indonesia- one of the smallest perhaps the extraordinary and unique culture of the islands. With 2K square miles of fertile lands which beautifully cultivated. Great Sandy beaches, romantic sunset, paddy fields, tremendous temples, arts and lifestyles. Its gorgeous!

Travel Destination: Bali Island, Indonesia (DPS)
Passengers : Sky & Frank
Travel Period: 5 D 4N

Day 1-15th Oct 06

Take off from LCCT (Low Class Carrier Terminal-oops) by Air Asia, now everyone can fly and sit anywhere you can! Depart on time with full flight passenger with most of them are Indonesians immigrants. Most of the locals Malaysians are couple. Both of us are among the last queue. *courtesy for senior citizents especially. Lucky we still get to sit next to each other when step into the Airbus 320. Depart:1640 Arrival:1940.

We landed at Ngurah Rai Airport and already can feel the mood of the unique of Bali. After immigration routine check, we straightly take the cab to our first destination. The town of "Ubud" we pay for Rp100 000 (RM40) for the cab fares. At Ubud, we ONS (One Nite Stay) at Tunjung Bungalow which is not the 5 star villa but still comfy and clean. The most important here now is to get laid after long journey. Majority of the guests are the whites and the place sourounded by the beautiful Bali concept landscape and the environment so damn peacefull.

We had dinner nearby the place where we get to know Ms Chiyomi Kurosawa, a japanese women that travel from Japan and stay in Bali to learn the Balinese Traditional Dances. She cant speak english at all, and surprisingly we communicate in Bahasa Indonesia and we really enjoy the night! which were only 3 of us sitting at the cafe that almost end the business hour. After the warmest chatt, we waived goodbye to Chiyomi, we both walked back to the bungalow and "sleep" all night long.

Bad experience: we spend money by travel with KLIA Express from Bandar Tasik Selatan in order to get a rapid transportation to the airport. In the middle of the way, the "fastest" train suddenly slowing down and stop for a few minutes. The intercom speaker announced that the service was disturbed by a unidentified caused that makes the trip to the airport delayed few minutes. WTF!!i was just about to feel the excitement with the speed..after few minutes interrupted, the train moved to the airport with not at the maximum speed! At least, so thankfull we safely arrived at the KLIA and manage to get the transit coach to the LCCT.

Day 2-16th Oct 06

When we woke up early in the morning, the lovely traditional bali breakfast was served at the balcony outside. I dont know how to describe the simple but wonderful taste dish they made. It kind of toast filled with fresh banana inside. Served together with hot Bali tea and fruits. Even its very simple but so memorable taste.

The owner of the Tunjung Bungalow was very friendly and humble. He introduce us his family members including his 2 cutie kids. After breakfast, we went for the "offering" ceremony by the family for the prosperous life at the family's "Rice Field". I was amazed by the view of the beautifull rice plants which I never step or touch it before. *Eventhough in Malaysia also hav a big land of rice field at Kedah!Hehe! The owner's 2 kiddie were not so friendly at first and when we joined for the ceremony. Running all over the place, screamed out loud and show us a temper face. Then later, the boy is such a playfull and naughty to us.

Offering at d rice field, Ubud
*Sky n Frank are busy posing not focusing for the offering

After back from the "offering" trip, we hav a chatt with the owner about the interesting places in Bali and he offered us a good bargain for the guide. Most of the deal we use d $USD not Rupiah. So, after we had a MoU we get packed and ready to travel to the north which will takes around 2 hours journey by car. While we wait for the car and the driver, we spent time play around with his kiddy which suddenly become more friendly and cute.

*Frank, really loves to play with kids.

We leave the Ubud town and heading to north of the Island called Lovina Beach.

*as noticed that I'll take so long to complete my post in my blog. So I decided to post this and will continue with the next post. Hope you all can wait, I've been so "snail" when blogging.Hehehe..

Life in Penang

Wonderful Sky
Howdie everybody....First of all, I would like to thanks for all because waiting for me writing in this very mean Blog. I don't know how I should start. I'll juz start about my life journey to Penang before, now and then..
Its hard time for me when i first moved to Penang last year. After the one month training at Vistana Hotel, Kuala Lumpur, I was ordered to work in Penang effectively by the next week. I only have 4 days to find place to stay after ONS (One Night Stay) at my regional manager house in Sungai Petani. Thanks to him! And the only person i know that stay in Penang is my ex-schoolmate when i was at JB. He helps me a lot here. Thanks to dear friend Reen- the commited worker of Siemens VDO and loving and caring person.
He introduced me to "Own", my current 3 rooms "apartmentmate". I met Own during the 3rd day before went off to Langkawi for the company escapade. Really enjoy myself there eventhough "forced" to be an Emcee for both dinner night. At least everyone in the company knows me as a popular newbie. I guess!

4th Sept 2006 is the official date i report duty to my northern region manager as a Trainer base in Penang. What a wonderfull life here. I'm working together with the "sparing partner" of Master Trainer which is very humble and love to eat too. We enjoy eating and we hav the same favourite dishes too. MFEO (Match For Each Other)..hahaa!
Travel every working days across the Penang Bridge to Bayan Lepas which i never get bored look at the view. The ocean smells...its Heaven!
The Heavenly doesnt stop right there. I get to know how good foods Penang hav to offer. During the first week here, I cant stop myself from enjoying the temptation of the local foods. The original Nasi Kandar "cupid" shoot my stomach with the spices dishes "arrows"!hahaha..
Penang Laksa, Penang Char Koay Teow, Penang Rojak etc..and not forget the special curry, you can't get the wonderful taste elsewhere exactly like in Penang elsewhere.
What surprised me was the traffic was really havoc compare to KL during the peak especially on fridays evening. You can see all d drivers simply dont care what will happen to others as long as they can "potong queue" and "cilok" in the line. *experience when u use the highway to the Penang Bridge during that peak. Well, thats experinces enhance my driving skills i guess.
Thats the part of my life in Penang. I'm so thankfull for everyhing.
Wonderful Sky of the Pearl Island!..My Life
